If you’ve searched for my name online lately, you might have found yourself a bit confused. It turns out “Michael Bennett” is a popular handle. But before we talk about your next move in the Royal City, let’s clear the air on who I am, and who I definitely am not.

🏈 I am NOT the NFL Defensive End

I’ve got a decent swing on the golf course at Cutten Fields or Guelph Lakes Golf Course, but you won’t see me sacking quarterbacks on Sundays. My “tackles” are usually restricted to navigating the local trail system or helping a client figure out how to fit a modern SUV into a 1920s garage in The Ward.

🕵️‍♂️ I am NOT the NYPD Detective

While I love a good mystery, I am not the Michael Bennett from the James Patterson thrillers. I have significantly fewer than 10 kids, and I spend my time solving “how do we get this house ready for market” mysteries, not international crimes.

🛠️ So, who AM I?

I’m the Michael Bennett who grew up on Country Club Drive and currently lives in The Ward. I’m the guy who spent 27 years at the Guelph Mercury selling advertising and learning the stories of every street in this city.

But most importantly, I’m part of a lineage that has been rooted in Guelph soil for generations. Long before my grandparents resided on Lane Street (on the family farm that eventually became part of Bennett Avenue), my ancestors were already helping forge the character of this community.

🚛 My Special Skills

I may not have a Super Bowl ring or a badge, but I do have a truck and a high tolerance for overstuffed garages. If you’re looking for a Realtor who isn’t afraid to help you prep for a dump run (or two) to get your home “showing-ready,” then I’m your guy.

I’m not a fictional hero or a pro athlete. I’m just a guy who remembers when the GORBA Trails, were just the Guelph lake trails, where the best cocktails in the Ward are hidden, and exactly how to sell a home in the city my family has called home since the 1800s.
